i'm almost done with my week of taking prednisone---today i've developed some spasming in my side and legs--should i be concerned? what causes this?

May be low K+: A low potassium level can do this. Try bananas or Gatorade.

i stand a lot.all day. eventually my legs feel like they spasm or something possibly along the veins. and legs burn. when i lay down, it goes away.

? Venous reflux: The symptoms described can be related to venous stasis-varicose veins.  Do you have varicose veins?  Problems with one way  valves prevent the venous blood from flowing backward down the extremities. Standing for long periods can cause the superficial veins to be under extreme pressure due to the lack of vavular function.  Consider compression stockings or vein workup with ultrasound review.

can tight,spasming hip, butt, low back muscles on one side cause leg to hurt? had steroid shot in butt gave a little relief but still feels crampy

Spasm: Absolutely, spasm can reduce blood flow and cause pain/aching in the leg. Not sure why you had the steroid IM shot though. Consider getting your low back looked at by a chiropractor or a DO who knows how to manipulate.  Odds are you have a structural issue somewhere below L2.  Soak in a hot bath then do some gentle stretching exercises.

Sounds like: some of your symptoms may be related to your fibromyalgia.  It does not look like you are taking any medication for this.  If you are having swelling/edema in your extremities that can also be a cause for the "burst veins".  Varicose veins can also become inflamed, causing your symptoms.  I would recommend you see your doctor to have these addressed.  There ARE treatments for fibromyalgia!

Black and blue: I a vein should burst then what you will see is the formation after several days of discoloration of the skin around the area of the burst vein.  This is what we call a black and blue area(ecchymosis). Over several more days this will slowly fade and disappear.

Could be inflammatio: Your symptoms are vague and not easy to diagnose.  A warm sensation would suggest increased heat which could be due to inflammation, allergy or even could be nerve related.  If it is related to a vein issue, it would be concerned about inflammation of the vein called phlebitis.  If this was the problem then you  should also have pain and hardness along the vein.  It may be wise to see a vein md.

Phlebitis: Yes it can be quite painful even if clots are not being formed. Poor venous circulation, inactivity, having high levels of clotting factors, which may occur naturally, or seondary to  drugs taken. A.Venous doppler will decide if you have venous incompetence and clot.  It cannot diagnose phlebitis per se, unless used wilth a blood tests called d-dimer.

i have recently realized that on my left leg there is a vein that pops out when i put weight on my leg. i had completely forgotten about it for weeks till yesterday when my leg started pinching slightly. should i be worried if i am joining the army?

Prominent vein: A prominent lower leg vein on weight bearing isn't necessarily a problem but could indicate an inadequate valve in that vein. Do you have a family history of varicose veins? Pain, tenderness,and leg swelling would be worrisome signs of phlebitis and you don't have any of these symptoms.

Reticular veins: The green veins in your legs are called reticular veins.  They are veins that are bigger than spider veins but smaller than varicose veins.  They are green because of where they are--just below the surface of the skin. Veins that are in the skin or on top of the skin are purple and red.  Usually reticular veins are flat and smooth but if they are bulgy and bumpy they are becoming varicose veins.
