See Vein Specialist: From your description it sounds as if you have a varicose vein in this area or a blue(reticular) vein.  The fact that your symptoms are recurrent and associated with bleeding and hematoma formation indicates that there is an underlying problem with that vein.  You should see a vein specialist for a venous evaluation and possibly even localized treatment such as sclerotherapy or localized excision.

Varicose veins: What you are describing sounds like a varicose vein.  Varicose veins are due to malfunctioning (refluxing) valves usually of the saphenous system.  The gold standard for treatment would be to have a venous reflux ultrasound and treatment dependent on these findings. You should see a vein specialist for a full venous evaluation.

Needs to be checked: It may be a cyst and since it hurts to touch,it better be checked by your doctor.Needs to be examined and may need xrays or MRI etc. to make a diagnosis

Try support stocking: This may be a varicose vein and may need to be addressed if it is causing discomfort. If there is redness associated with it you may have a superficial phlebitis. If just swollen you can try a compressive stocking.

A picture is worth..: Small veins under the skin located on the inside of the knee are commonly referred to as spider veins, however, less common vascular problems can arise even in a 12 year old.   In this case a picture would be very helpful/likely get you a diagnosis.

Varicosity?: My first question is if you’ve had many children. If you have, that is super common to have dilated veins in the lower extremities, including the knees. I’ve had six children so I feel you girl! But these do not pose immediate dangers to you. It’s just a reminder of the wonderment of motherhood.

started pt for my knees due to a trip&fall 2wks ago.after a 2nd ptsession (massage),some little red veins appeared on the skin in the part left&above my left patella.that part hurt(burning) during massage.what caused them?bruise?how can i treat them?

Broken Blood Vessels: These are probably broken superficial blood vessels secondary to trauma and will resolve with time.The burning during message may be due to deep bruising.These will resolve with time.Continue PT and get better
