Some certainly can..: Seemingly your belly is just not agreeing with certain veggies. Most people have some degree of disagreement with certain foods. If you have excessive gas/belching with eating certain vegetable, gas-x may help. Also, eat a bit less of that particular veg to see if it helps. Fortunately, there are plenty of other veggies around to choose--i like them too. Veggies up to a healthier you! good luck.

Fiber One bars: Yes.  Just add the amount of fiber in the bar to your total fiber.  Peace and good health.  Please do not use the bars alone for fiber. Intake.

i have had digestive issues since childhood. i have a bm every  8-9 days on average. can i go on a vegatable cleanse or will that hurt my stomach.

Accepted Answer

Not a fan of cleanse: Fad treatment approaches come ; go--dating to "snake oil" salesmen of yesteryear. Colonics ; purges are popular but should be avoided ; can not be recommended (see earlier healthtap answers). Use of irritant laxatives are safe for the short-term only. Fiber supplements, stool softeners, ; lavage agents like MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) are safe. Rx drugs are available, based on work-up of your cause of constipation.

what fruits or vegatables would help prevent birth defects?

Accepted Answer

Good nutrition: The only association that is known between nutrition and birth defects, is the lack of vit B12 (folic acid) and a higher incidence of spina bifida. Taking prenatal vitamins will prevent this. In general, good nutrition will assure you and your baby the best chance for good growth prenatally.

Yes: That sounds very healthy. Now exercise and don't smoke and you are well on your way to a better you.

Water & fiber help: Make yourself eat fiber and drink 6-10 8 oz glasses of water a day (that's 3-5 16 oz bottles of water a day). Why don't you have veggies and fruit around? They are the best source of fiber and really help constipation if you take, say 3 fruits and 4 veggies a day for a few weeks. Some meds, chronic inactivity can cause constipation or make it last longer so get busy walking & exercising more too!

ckd patient, 72yrs, creatinine suddenly raised to 350mmol, after infusion fell to 208, 1 week after went to 320. now 6th day on vegatable juice and water fell to 260mmol, but past 7 days very cold hands and feet with musle craps. pad? what to do?

Muscle cramps: Deficiencies of calcium or magnesium can cause recurrent muscle cramps. Have these checked and if there's a deficiency, a proper supplement can be ordered by your physician or nephrologist. PAD is also a potential cause of muscle cramping.

after eating coliflower sometimes i get gas and stomach cramps,  burping is this gastritis, if so what should i do i love vegatables?

Maybe intolerance: Seemingly your belly is just not agreeing with cauliflower. Most people have some degree of disagreement with certain foods. What you described is not gastritis. If you have excessive gas/belching with this, gas-x may help. Also, eat a bit less of this to see if it helps. Fortunately, there are plenty of other veggies around--i like them too. Short answer is: yes, you should eat fish any way you can.  But you live on islands, so you probably have more than enough fish already.  But salted fish is very salty, and the salt is bad for you when you get older (kidney problems, high blood pressure, stroke, heart attack, swelling, weight gain).  So try not to eat so much salt.
