What fruits or vegatables would help prevent birth defects?

Good nutrition: The only association that is known between nutrition and birth defects, is the lack of vit B12 (folic acid) and a higher incidence of spina bifida. Taking prenatal vitamins will prevent this. In general, good nutrition will assure you and your baby the best chance for good growth prenatally.

Dietary helps: Well, vegetables rich in Folic Acid would be good, examples are spinach and leafy green lettuce. Although just taking a Folic Acid supplement is the best way. It actually has been shown to be better absorbed when taken as a pill.
