Varicocele: Once a varicocele develops there is no treatment other than surgery.  If there is pain , discomfort or decrease in size of testicle then I would recommend surgery

Varicocele: It is estimated that 15% of men have a varicocele that appears during puberty.  Evaluation of male factor infertility identifies varicocele a in about 40 %. Obviously, 15% of men are not infertile! but some subset develops problems. Evaluation is needed if testicular atrophy of left testis occurs, if semen analyses have several parameters off, and sometimes when a man waits to have children later

Varicocele: Varicoceles are normal anatomic variants. They are harmless. Unless particularly large or otherwise bothersome, no treatment is needed. If still present and large or causing symptoms, discuss with your doctor.

VARICOCELE: This has no effect. It happens on the left because if the venous drainage on the left. The valves are not working to keep the venous blood going in the right direction.

First, get a good...: Examination to see if you indeed have a varicocele. If you have a varicocele, you might experience discomfort, or a "heavy" feeling in the left side of the scrotum. Varicoceles are associated with a higher incidence of infertility. A urologist could talk to you about surgery.

i have a varicocele on my left testicle but it only aches sometimes on a semi rare occasion when im laying down. i forget about it a lot. do i have to worry about it?

: No.  Occasional dull ache is not to be concerned.  You should rather be concerned if left testicle is significantly smaller than the right one measured by orchiometer by scrotal sonography.
