Not really: but you need to keep the follow up with your doctor, both drugs aren't known for the side effects you noted, Singular may cause liver problems, but not related to long term use rather due to a reaction by some patients even after few doses, rare. Depends: Each drug has a different profile. Inh or isoniazide can occasionally cause liver problems, but these aren't severe and won't cause damage if you are followed closely and the drugs are stopped if any sign of liver irritation develops.

Yes, possibly: Chamomile, passion flower, lemon balm, and theanine are a few that come to mind.  Valerian and kava may be the ones you were thinking of with possible liver toxicity.  In some people, st. John's wort might be useful -- even though it's more famous for use in mild-moderate depression.  It's important for you to know that there are also very effective talk therapies for anxiety.

No single best: Just like there is no best single drug for anxiety, there is no single best herb. We are all unique biochemically and a drug or herb that might work great for one person may not help another at all. Of the 3 you mention kava causes the most side effects. You can try passion flower ; valerian to see which works better for you, but holy basil (tulsi), rhodiola and l-theanine are also worth trying.

Valerian: Hi, the side effects include headache, irritability and sluggishness in the morning for some people, have you tried sleep hygiene, like: No TV in bedroom, no book in the bed, use bedroom just for sex and sleep, leave the bed if you don't fall asleep after 15-30 min, try to watch a calming movie, reading a relaxing book, have a cup of warm milk, do not exercise late at night, etc.

Better options: Overall valerian is considered safe.  There are a very few case reports of liver injury (temporarily elevated enzymes, one mild fibrosis) so it would be best to try other botanicals such as lemon balm, chamomile, passionflower and milky oats. It may turn out, as with kava, that other substances were to blame.  Good brands include nature's way (purple top), gaia, herbsetc, herbpharm, eclectic etc.

i was on terbinafine for two weeks 250mg now i'm having pain in my sides. is liver damage common with only two weeks of terbinafine? i'm worried. sometimes i would double a dose if i missed a dose but never had history of liver problems before

See DR: Significant liver toxicity from terbinafine is rare. Your symptoms are probably something else. No harm from missed doses, no need to double dose. Why taking it? How long do you plan to continue? Do not take if you already have active hepatitis.

Yes: Toxicity to liver, kidney, intestine, bone marrow, etc., is related to dosing and duration of exposure. Must not drink alcohol. Dosed once a week. Daily folic acid reduces toxicity. Various treatments exist for discoid lupus. Protect from sun.
