Methotrexate :the most common adverse effects include: hepatotoxicity (liver damage),but could this be seen in low dose for lupus affecting skin ?

Yes: Toxicity to liver, kidney, intestine, bone marrow, etc., is related to dosing and duration of exposure. Must not drink alcohol. Dosed once a week. Daily folic acid reduces toxicity. Various treatments exist for discoid lupus. Protect from sun.
