However, high creatinine is potentially serious, depending on exactly how high it is, and whether you have sufficient fluid intake. Discuss with your doctor.

Bladder spasms: You could have overactive bladder from dietary irritants. Test this out by removing from you diet all: chocolate, peppermint, tomato, citrus, spicy food, alcohol, tobacco, caffeine, and artificial sweeteners. After 2-3 weeks, try re-introducing each of these items one-by-one to see if a certain product causes your urinary frequency.

Better to look at: Actual results rather than the ratio. What are the results for BUN and creatinine? Please note that all lab results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that.

Not usually : An uncomplicated, simple UTI (e.G, cystitis /bladder infection) would not affect your bun/creatinine/gfr which are the blood tests that reflect the overall function of the kidneys. A complicated, severe UTI affecting the kidneys (pyelonephritis) could, directly and or indirectly, affect kidney function and these blood tests if associated with sepsis, obstruction, or significant dehydration.

It depends,,,: It depends on the actual levels of BUN and Cr reported along with other lab values.  If the Cr (Creatinine) is over 1.5 there might be cause for concern as it would point toward renal impairment, and there'd be other findings.  Your other symptoms mentioned, flank pain, blood in urine, and proteinuria also point to a renal issue so see your doctor soon for more tests and treatment of the cause.

Possible: In most cases of uncomplicated utis these kidney function measurements would remain unchanged. If the kidneys themselves are involved especially in cases of pyelonephritis associated with systemic response such as sepsis, these measurements may change.
