Ear cleaning: You should never insert a cotton swab into your ears as it will injure your ear canal and ear drum. Cotton swabs are not made to be inserted into your ears. You are actually pushing the wax deeper into your ear canal.

You don't.: Do not use peroxide in your ears. Use an over the counter ear wax cleaning kit or simple mineral oil. If you have a lot of wax build up see your doctor.

May be its  too much: Hydrogen peroxide is used for cleaning ear wax but it is not suggested to use for long time as every chemicals has its own side effects. If you keep getting wax very frequently, you wanna see primary care or ENT docs for help.

Ear infection ?'s: Manual cleaning of wax buildup in the ear canal can be very painful even if done by an ENT physician.  Unlikely to cause an infection, but if pain continues , go back to the ENT for an exam and appropriate treatment.

Not pure H2O2: debrox is a commercially produced and FDA approved LOW CONCENTRATION of hydrogen peroxide with oil to specifically do that.

No: Full strength peroxide is a little strong but even the otc wax drops have peroxide in them.

Wax in ears: Hydrogen peroxide can help loosen wax in the outer ear so it can drain out on its own. Never use q-tips in your ears as they push wax back in. There are little hairs that brush the wax out as long as it is soft and loose- so the peroxide helps with that. It won't prevent middle ear infection- those are behind the ear drum.

Yes!!!: How do you know it is wax?   The best way to soften ear wax is dilute sodium bicarbonate /[baking soda].
