i had a d&c suction surgery on friday march 2nd. i am having severe pain and golf size blood clots. is this normal? i would rate my pain an 8 on the pain scale. i have been taking ibuprofen and using a heating pad.

Hopefully : Hopefully your symptoms have subsided or you contacted your doctor and were seen.
Blood clots this large are not normal and pain that is 8/10 is worrisome. In a situation like this your doctor should be contacted by phone right away or you should present to the emergency room.

microfracture left knee on monday.  noticing my left calf is quite sore tonight.  no heat or redness.  scared of blood clots. i am only 25% wb on leg?

Leg pain: The soreness may be due to the injury itself, but there could be a small possibility of blood clot, particularly if you have a previous history of blood clot, are a smoker, are on hormone replacement, or have other medical issues. Therefore, I would get ahold of your doctor or go to an ER for evaluation.

DVT: If you are pregnant and have the blood clots you described, are they on the surface (varicose veins) or deeper? If they are deeper, the concern is that you may have a blood clot in the deeper veins that could cause more problems.  Did he suggest you see your doctor at some interval?  Based on where the clots were, i would recommend following up sooner than your next scheduled visit.

: There have been instances of constant cold applications causing damage to skin and other tissues. If a vein is injured from such excessive &amp; continuous, instead of intermittent ,cold application it is possible that clotting within the vein  &amp; phlebitis could occur but I've never seen such a case.

Prolonged bleeding: This type of bleeding needs to be addressed by your gyn provider.  It is possible for pregnancy to exist in your tubes, which can cause heavy continuous bleeding.  Get a serum HCG test to make sure you are not pregnant, but even if negative, see your doctor for an exam and treatment.

just today soaked pads every 3 hrs along w/ thick blood clots. had hysteroscopy & poly removal 3 wks ago. is this normal? dct isnt available nor tmrw.

Heavy bleeding: It sounds like your bleeding is quite heavy. If your surgery was 3 weeks ago then this might be your next period. There are many options to treat heavy periods.  Schedule a follow up visit with your Obgyn to go over the pathology report from your surgery and to discuss treatment options for heavy periods.

Large clots menstrua: This is not normal.  You should contact your doctor for an appointment for a complete examination to determine the cause of this problem.

Hormonal imbalance: Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and some may be due to anovulatory cycles. If the issue persists for more than 3-4 cycles you may wish to consult your doctor. Consult this site for more information on this topic.
