Ultrasound: You will have blood drawn (pregnancy hormone test) and a vaginal ultrasound.  If nothing is seen in the uterus and a mass is seen in the tube, an ectopic might be present.  Sometimes the pregnancy test is so low nothing can be seen and these tests need repeated in a few days or a week.  Ectopics can often be treated with medication now, not always needing surgery. About 2 -12 days.: From what i know about this, you're supposed to ovulate about 36 hours after you take gthis with a concomitant rise in temperature.  If you engage in intercourse, etc. You should first take your pregnancy test about 2-10 days after this, especially if you don't have your period.  If the result is not clear you can also take the test after that.

BHCG = 25 = pregnant: A bhcg of 25 is a positive pregnancy test. That is a very low number though so scheduling a follow up with your doctor to see if the number is rising normally is important.

is it safe to take 5, 000 units of vitamin d & omega-3 along with my prenatal vitamins?  is it ok to take them both before and after pregnancy?

No: That is an extremely high dose of vitamin d. More recent studies have suggested that these high doses are not warranted or advisable. Discuss with your OB doc before you start taking these various supplements. I would stay with Folic Acid and prenatal vitamins only.

Not really safe: In general alcohol can be absorbed in smaller amounts through oral mucosa. It is better and safer to forego any wine tasting activity while pregnant, regardless of how small the risk might be.

Plan B: Condoms are designed to be used from start to finish--not just at the end of intercourse. This is because about 4-5 million sperm are released in preejaculatory fluid. Use over the counter Plan B if intercourse was within 72 hours to decrease the risk of unplanned pregnancy.

General rule: Creams or lotions you apply to the skin surface will not transfer a detectable amount of med through the skin to your blood. If it doesn't get into your blood it cannot effect the fetus. Only specialized prescription meds, placed on patches with penetration capabilities would get through the skin. Failure with OC: If you started taking Trigestral within five days of your period and have not missed any pill so far, most of the women will be protected from pregnancy as brown pills are iron and do not contain hormones. Failure rate is I in 1000, which is very low. Hopefully you are protected.
