Is it safe to take 5, 000 units of vitamin d & omega-3 along with my prenatal vitamins? is it ok to take them both before and after pregnancy?

No: That is an extremely high dose of vitamin d. More recent studies have suggested that these high doses are not warranted or advisable. Discuss with your OB doc before you start taking these various supplements. I would stay with Folic Acid and prenatal vitamins only.
