Pregnancy test: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate. They are the same tests used in a doctor's office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period.  If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection.

Hard to say: One study demonstrated that the twinges associated with ovulation was not the actually egg being released but was the final growth of the follicle a day or so prior to ovulation. Again sex every other day would resolve the timing issue for most patients.

Unsure: No. You can;t get pregnant if the eggs dont release. It is extremely rare to take that shot and not have the eggs release unless you take it incorrectly. So the bigger question is why you think the eggs did not release? You may not feel them release at all. And ultrasound is not helpful for that either.

i am on oxycodone and i am constipated to the point of being bloated and now burping up rotten eggs and feel like throwing up, how can i stop this ?

Normal: Constipation on oxycodone is normal, and it can happen with any narcotics like that as a common side effect.  Try docusate twice daily, a stool softener, to see if that helps.  If that doesn't help, then i would try a laxative.  For quick results (overnight), use bisacodyl (dulcolax) tabs or suppositories.  After that, start taking something like MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) daily and see if that doesn't help.

is it true that ovulating earlier in the cycle can decrease chances of conception? i heard that the egg might not be mature enough if its released before day 14. i usually show symptoms of ovulation around days 8-12, with my period two weeks later.

Early ovulation ?: At 38, your pituitary is producing a higher level of ovarian stimulation, resulting frequently in ovulation at day 8-12.  The egg is fully mature at the point of ovulation even if released "early".  Conception is not diminished, although if not planned for by earlier intercourse, ovulation may be "missed".  Best to plan pregnancy based on testing for ovulation.
