Depends on size: I suppose if the cyst were extremely large filling the abdomen then pain could be in the upper left quadrant. That is not a very common finding.

LUQ pain: One of the  causes of left upper quadrant abdominal pain is gas trapped in the splenic flexure of the colon as it takes a sharp 90 degree turn at that point. The spleen is also located in that area. Pain from the actual stomach or the pancreas are less likely possibilities. Fever and vomiting may be unrelated to the above possibilities. Applying heat to the abdomen breaks down trapped gas.

41 year old male, 3 day history of red blood streaks on stool and one month history of upper left quadrant pain intermittent. my stool is normal size and shape, not loose -- blood is bright red in color and streaky. fatigue. hgb 16.6, hct 49%?

: Your description of fresh red blood streaking on but not mixed with normal stools is.more characteristic of anorectal causes like fissure or hemorrhoids. Inflammatory bowel disease is unlikely. We can't exclude a rectal growth as yet. I recommend consulting a proctologist or colorectal surgeon who can perform a simple proctoscopic examination in their office which should give you the diagnosis.

upper left quadrant pain underneath rib on left side.  went to er.  had ct done with contrast.  normal.  blood work normal.  worried about cancer.

Probably not cancer: Cancer is not a common cause of pain. Negative CT is pretty good evidence against cancer. Follow up with your personal physician. Good luck.

: Although you don't mention any swallowing symptoms, you may have an esophageal motility disorder. Another possibility is intermittent  gas entrapment in the splenic flexure of the colon which takes a 90 degree turn under the lower left rib cage. The eosinophilia is nondiagnostic but can be seen in eosinophilic  esophagitis  For reassurance, consult a gastroenterologist for evaluation and advice.

my bf has swelling in both feet/ankles with bruising (no sprains/injuries), chest pain, severe heartburn, & upper left-quadrant pain. heart problems?

Possibly: While those symptoms can be heart-related, other organ systems maybe the source of all those findings. Also, there maybe a combination of organs that may lead to those symptoms and findings. Leg swelling can be from kidney disorder or varicose veins. Chest pain can be gastrointestinal, pulmonary, chest wall, etc. A physician visit will be helpful.

Sound like: infectious gastroenteritis, caused by virus or bacteria.  Other possibilities are ulcerative colitis, amebic colitis, and serious bacterial infection such as typhoid.  Also, if you have both diarrhea and vomiting, they could lead to rapid dehydration.  You should see a doctor asap, or go to ED if symptoms do not resolve after 24 hours.

Lots of Info: U say Stomach, I assume U mean abdominal. Gall bladder removal does not prevent gallbladder disease, still can have gravel &amp; Pancreatitis (Bloating?). Left Quad pain ? constipation.  Diabetes predisposes to Neuro-pathy which can affect everything. incl. GI tract &amp;   Muscles. U Need fiber &amp; osmotic bowel supplement at times. U need examination by Internist &amp; blood test to get prop specialist triage

Pain: When pain becomes unbearable, it associates nausea/ vomiting, fever or chills. If pain appears chronic , coming and going, best will be to study its behavior, circumstances and call your doc for an office visit.
