Less likely: With the limited information you have given of chronic pain getting more severe over the past two years and nothing else going on in terms of movement or sensory issues I would say the likelihood of a spinal tumor is very very low. It certainly would be beneficial to be seen by a doctor and have at least x-ray studies done to try and figure out the problem.

Cluster of symptoms: Hard to say with a general cluster of symptoms what may be happening, but if they are significant they should be evaluated. Conditions such as brain tumor are quite rare and ct/mri scans may be ordered by a physician after a thorough history and exam. Don't ignore your symptoms, but be cautious about jumping to the most severe conclusion without more of a work-up. Hope this helps!

Nerve damage: Spinal cord by itself ends at the first lumbar vertebra, however, spinal nerves do travel in the vertebral canal all the way through the sacrum. A tumor pressing on the nerves may cause sensory loss, pain, muscle weakness, loss of bladder and bowel control. It would depend on the location, size and nature of the tumor.

Yes, quite uncommon: But, what prompts your concerns?  A variety of tumors may present over the thoracic vertebrae, some causing nocturnal pain responsive to aspirin, others compressing the spinal cord, resulting in urinary incontinence, leg weakness and numbness.  Since often insidious, and slowly progressive, if there is high suspicion, would urge MRI study to pin down.

i think my tubular adenoma tumor is back and i want to know what the symptoms would be.

Bleeding: Really, the only sign you would have would be some blood in the stool, but if it were a massively large adenoma, then you could have symptoms typical of bowel obstruction, such as bloating, cramping, and emesis.  I doubt this would occur. Good luck.

i have 4 subcutaneous tumors on my back. they are red, painless, small, dispersed and stiff. one seems to be very deep. i dont have any other symptom?

Tough: Skin and skin conditions are very difficult to discuss without face to face or photo.  Could be simple "pimples", moles, warts, sebaceous cysts, etc.  Your pcp needs to look at this.

eyes goes back involuntary headaches etc due to pseudo tumor. after lp symptoms returned but more prominent and worse could there be more to it?

Pseudotumor: diagnosis is made after multiple tests, including an MRI so I do not think there is anything else, you might need medication (Diamox)

would the bladder function symptoms from a lumbar spinal deformity/lesion/tumor/etc wax and wane or stay constant?

Accepted Answer

Constant: The nerves that control the ability of the urinary bladder to contract come from lumbar nerves.  Any spinal deformity that interferes with such neurologic function remains constant and the bladder as such frequently requires catheterization without improvement.
