In the absence of associated complications, "wait and see" may be the appropriate management strategy for these retention cysts. Patients with cysts of the maxillary sinus may present to the ophthalmologist with proptosis, enophthalmos, diplopia, ptosis, epiphora.

No: No, very unlikely. Mucous retention cysts in the sinuses are very common. The ethmoid thickening is also unlikely to cause the issue. I would look for another reason for the ptosis.

Maybe if same side: It's worth a month of nasal steroids, nasal antihistamines, leukotriene inhibitors &amp; antihistamine plus nasal rinses to see if clearing blocked sinus will relieve your pain, assuming that clogged sinus is on same side as pain. Of course it also depends upon which sinus is affected. Maxillary sinus infection could cause tooth &amp; cheekbone pain. But wouldn't explain jaw &amp; temple, unless TMJ syndrome

Not worth worrying: Mild changes on X-rays usually means doubtful change. This implies that you Do not need to do anything until or unless you develop some symptoms related to your affected body part(Sinus in your case). Simply ignore it as a 'nothing of concern'right now.

: You can watch and wait. You may feel the nodes every couple of weeks, if any of the lymph glands doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor. Wish you good health!

Sinus irrigation: Depends on problem, but sinus irrigation is a very safe &amp; effective way to clear sinus congestion/mucus buildup earlier on. However, a sinus irrigation bottle or a Neti pot is needed for this purpose. Pharmacies/large grocery stores (Giant, etc) carry these products. Use sterilized saline solution (add salt packet to water, boil, let cool, then use). Follow cleaning instructions on bottle.

Clean Air: Keep it clean and more fresh air. If its infected then you may need  short course of antibiotics and sinus lavage.

Dx of the sinuses: Not to be facetious, but the term simply means some disease involving the sinuses.  Most commonly it refers to inflammation of the sinuses or "sinusitis" which can be viral or bacterial, and acute or chronic.  Chronic sinus disease may require long term antibiotic therapy and/or surgery.
