Hernias and mesh: Generally the mesh is "tacked  in place" by staples or a suture and should not wander.   Are you sure its the mesh moving versus another hernia - around the mesh?   I might try a different surgeon.

Risk vs. benefit: You can but it would a lot wiser to limit what amount that you lift.  Heavy lifting could create a problem and since you've had hernias before, it's a risk versus benefit situation.  Probably not worth big weights.  Best to go with lighter weights and more repetitions.

See your surgeon: In general, it is good that there are no symptoms, but also in general, we think recurrent hernias are more likely to become a problem that primary hernias. Further, it may not be a recurrence, and an exam by a surgeon, along with the surgeon;s advice may be the best course of action.

No: A hernia is a defect in the abdominal wall musculature (technically in the tough tissue overlying muscle). Some people are prone to developing hernias even after having repairs.  However, it can help with comfort during exercise.  Your best bet is to use proper lifting technique and develop strong core muscles.  Don't give up exercise, it is good for your health in too many ways to list!

Some...: Biologic mesh for recurrent is generally safe. Like any foreign body, it could become infected, cause a stricture, or in rare cases even erode into the esophagus. That being said, it plays a very important role in reducing the recurrence rate of your hernia from as high as 20-25% down to 3-5%.

Scarring from : Previous surgery makes operation more technically difficult, and injury to nerves, testicle, and another recurrence is higher.  But it is still a safe operation, so, if you have a symptomatic recurrent inguinal hernia, you should proceed with surgical repair.
