can i buy 3 ultrasound photos of baby?

Usually free: I know the techs in my hospital routinely give out us photos to expecting moms.  Most OB docs i know do the same.  Don't be shy to ask - thermal paper isn't expensive.

what are the different types of ultrasound? i've heard about level 2 ultrasound and seen some friends 3d ultrasound photos.  what should i ask my ultrasound tech so i can get the best ultrasound pic of by baby?

Not : Not every ultrasound department offers 3-d ultrasound photos; therefore, it is important to call ahead before your appointment to find out whether or not the office has the capability of 3-d imaging. Also, make sure that you inform the ultrasound technologist before the examination starts that you would like a 3-d photo. Getting good 3-d images (or even good 2-d images for that matter) can be very difficult and even possible for the ultrasound technologist depending on the fetal position. This sometimes requires patience and understanding if the images are suboptimal. About the only thing you can do to help make the ultrasound technologist 's job easier is to start the examination with a full bladder.

during my ultrasound, the radiologist was clicking so many photos. at the end, she said it was normal. is it normal to take so many pics during an ultrasound, or is something wrong?

: Quite normal, nothing to worry about. BTW ultrasound is perfectly harmless.

Typical IUGR,: the head is bigger than the body. If both are small could a due date error, or genetic issue.

Knee pop: Four ligaments stabilize the knee: anterior cruciate (ACL,) posterior cruciate (PCL,) medial collateral (MCL,) and the lateral collateral (LCL.) Impact injury or abrupt tear in any of these ligaments may cause the knee to pop, depending on the circumstances of the injury. Meniscal (acts as cushion) injury, illiotibial band, hamstring injury. what do you suggest if my seven months old son's ultrasound showed thinning of cortex in right kidney. how dangerous it can be?

Probably nothing: A thin cortex may be a sign of chronic kidney disease. However, it may also be an incidental finding on the US. Does the thin cortex involve both kidneys or just one? Are you having any symptoms relating to the kidneys? The kidneys should be evaluated further, including blood tests. If other tests come up normal, I wouldn't worry.

Untrue: this is inaccurate: ultrasounds are certainly quite sensitive at both 7-8 weeks. Consult your oB- there is no logic in this statement.

: You may try endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) if available with a higher success rate than ablation.

Need more info.: Accurate for what? Determining viability or age of gestation? Regardless no test is '100%'.

Accepted Answer

Don't worry: There is no good research that supports the link between autism and fetal ultrasound. Many people have great personal investment in "proving" links between autism and something or another but they have not been proven to be true in real scientific research projects.  If you had so many ultrasounds there must be a medical reason that your doctor ordered them. Ask your doctor why.
