Ulnar Nerve: injury can occur from repeated application pressure to or traction of the ulnar nerve usually at a point where the nerve lies close to the body surface overlying bone (inside of elbow or base of hand on the pinky side. It results in parasthesias in the 5th and outside half of the 4th finger and if further up the arm can result in loss of function of some muscles in the hand (&amp; thumb adductor)

UNCLEAR IF HEALING: So called cubital tunnel syndrome symptoms may suggest slow healing of ulnar nerve, and even may raise questions of localized inflammation or scarring which may prevent  resolution.  An EMG test can objectify the process, and point the way to successful outcome.  But be aware that surgery in the end may be the best option.

No: An isolated ulnar neuropathy is generally secondary to cubital tunnel compression at the elbow and is not related to agent orange exposure. Acute orange exposure is associated with numerous malignancies.

Two different things: You mentioned at least two different things. Sprengel's disease is a rare congenital deformity where one scapula is higher than another. The other thing you described is a "winged" scapula, where it "sticks out" when pressing against a wall. This is from damage to the long thoracic nerve. The treatment for sprengels' is surgery, which could conceivably damage the ltn and lead to winging.

Possibly: The median nerve primarily controls the first 3 fingers whereas the ulnar controls the 4th ( ring finger) and the 5th ( pinkie ) digit. Depending on the severity of the damage (how was this determined ? An EMG??) to the nerve a person may start getting "Fasiculations" which is the spontaneous/ uncoordinated contraction of muscle  that the damaged nerve supplies.  Muscle twitching might occur.

would deep sedation in surgery cause ulnar nerve damage? i had a d&c .. and maybe its concidence but my baby finger has felt strange since can still feel heat etc but wondering could this be caused by deep sedation or is it concidence?

: Sedation or anesthesia per se would not damage the ulnar nerve, however, the nerve is superficial and could get injured due to poor positioning of the arm during the period of sedation. If it is getting better, you may watch and wait. If the sensory deficit persists, see your doctor.

If its confirmed you: have a neuropathy or damaged nerves, then you should have Release Surgery to maximize your Nerve function, and finger strength should recover quite well.

Possible: The ulnar nerve does travel from the inner aspect of the elbow to the palm of the hand on the side of the little finger.  A fall on the out stretched hand could  injury the nerve. If symptoms persists see your doctor.
