Herpes Ulcer: Unless proven otherwise a recurrent blister/ulcer is herpes.  If you have not had any blood tests to see if you were ever exposed to herpes then this is the time to do so.

Prob not, but...: Some systemic health problems could do this, but far less likely than a localized problem. If not under a doctor's care for this, do it soon. Cancer is a possibility for a truly non-healing ulcer for as long as a year. Get it looked at soon.

Not really: Tongue ulcers do not turn into cancers but they may be cancers to begin with.

Tongue ulcer: An aphthous ulcer that is lasting this long should be looked at by a dentist. Many feel stress can cause aphthous ulcers to come out more frequently, but this is too long for one to last, if it is an ulcer.

Ear pain: You are not moving your jaw as much due to the pain.  Holding it open or leaving it open can inflame the joint i'm front of the ear where the jaw bone.Moves. You could also just have an ear ache and the tongue ulcer simultaneously. Your family doctor will be able to sort this out nicely. If it does not get better in the next few days. See someone.

A blister : An uncleration or blister on your tongue can be caused from biting the tongue, stress, nutritional deficiency or vitamin deficiency, or an underlying systemic problem. When it occurs you should see you dentist or your medical internist.

Sores on tongue: There are several possibilities for sores on the tongue.  The most common are aphthous ulcers, canker sores, or herpes simplex viral infection ( herpetic gingivostomatitis). 
Other possibilities are lichen planus, oral thrush, HIV infection, cancer.
If you have sores that have not healed within 7-10 days, you should have them examined and possibly biopsied as soon as possible.

Canker sores: The main symptom of canker sores is pain and bleeding is quite unusual.  A tongue lesion that bleeds in the absence of trauma or doesn't heal would be of concern. In that case an oral surgeon should be consulted.

Bacterial infections: Swabbing the tongue, whether an ulcer exists or not, will pick up bacteria that sits on top of the tongue and between the little crevices on the tongue.  These bacteria could disclose bacteria in the mouth and superior portion of the throat.

Need more info: To better discuss why you got the ulcer, we need to know more about you, your activities and your general health. To help the ulcer you can use salt water (swish around in your mouth for a bit, several times per day). It should generally heal in a few days. You come across as very anxious about this ulcer - why is that? Your best answers will come from a face to face conversation with your doctor.
