Muscke twitching: It sounds like a muscle twitching. Muscle twitching is caused by minor muscle contractions in the area, or uncontrollable twitching of a muscle group that is served by a single motor nerve fiber. Mostly, it is temporary stuff but if it gets worse and getting more often, you have to see your pcp for a possible neuro-muscular disease.

Come together ????: A newborn's umbilical stump will usually separate from the base by a week of age &amp; may be marked by oozing or blood. Several times daily use of alcohol can speed further drying &amp; healing. What you mean by coming together is confusing. It is a wound that heals. If it has not dried/healed by 16 days it should be seen by the doc.

i have protruded umbilicus since i was 2 and i am 21now. is it considered to be a disorder or just remnant of embryological cord or something?

Can be hernia: A protrusion at the navel is usually due to a gap in the muscles where the umbilical vessels entered. This is common and is called an umbilical hernia and usually doesn't cause any problems. Occasionally bowel will get trapped in it and require surgery but this is not something that happens frequently. The only way to correct it is with a surgical hernia repair. Hope this helps.

I don't see any: Serious condition with the tickling sensation unless it's accompanied by pain, redness, swelling, fever etc. Calamine lotion may help. Take care!

Colon related?: "Left side pain" can be caused by lots of things &amp; may indeed originate outside the GI tract. Further evaluation is in order before anyone can adequately address your concern. Your doctor will want to examine you as well as know the quality, timing, duration, location, &amp; associations (eating, position, activity, stooling, urinating) of your pain to better direct the next appropriate testing.

i have found a hardened area to the right and just above the umbilicus. no pain felt, and it isn't tender, but  it just feels like an organ, but what?

Accepted Answer

Benign: Not a cancer. Not an infection. A small, pink, soft  growth like a tiny finger. Simple excision is quick, easy, painless, and curative. On the umbilicus it is usually a newborn and may respond to cauterization such as silver nitrate. You MUST have a relationship with a DR. You did not make this diagnosis on your own. Be sure this DR explains so you are satisfied.

my baby is 5.7 week old.when he cries some discharge yellowish coming from umbilicus.otherwise umbilicus looks normal?

: If your baby is feeding well with no fever then you probably should continue cleaning it with alcohol swab regularly. Avoid putting diaper over the area when you put on the diaper. If there is fever make sure your baby is evaluated immediately.

hello, i have a 6 mm cyst inside my umbilicus that was infected. can it be treated with medicine or should surgery be performed?

Accepted Answer

: You say it WAS infected, which implies that someone treated it with antibiotics, and the infection is now gone but the cyst is still there.  If that is the case, then you will need surgery to get rid of it, but it is a minor procedure.  A dermatologist or plastic surgeon can take care of that for you, probably in the office.

on palpation by dr i had real pain in my right side of abdomin superior to umbilicus. i had no symptoms of anything re git. how is it possible?

Accepted Answer

Abd pain: You may have a sensitivity there that hasn't clinically shown up yet. If you were very tender then an ultrasound of the area might give some more info.  Early issues could be seen prior to a problem developing.
