If your baby is feeding well with no fever then you probably should continue cleaning it with alcohol swab regularly. Avoid putting diaper over the area when you put on the diaper. If there is fever make sure your baby is evaluated immediately.

A good cleansing of the site with alcohol on a cotton swab multiple times/day should help dry this. Dry the area after cleaning with a hair dryer on a no heat setting. If regular cleaning like this will not stop the drainage after a day or if ant tissue protrudes, take the kid to his doc.

The area should be evaluated for signs of infection. Monitor temperature and breathing. Watch for signs of swelling, redness and increase in discharge. A virtual consult with Healthtap is available. Keep the area dry and clean.
