i am 33. i have a flat raised ulcer on the inside of my cheek. it started out as a lump in my cheek and the ulcer is painless. could it be mouth cancer?

Doubtful but i worry: Although unlikely unless you "chew" it demands attention.A dmd would be a good first step.

ulcers that come on the inside of cheeks. looks like the skin is burnt. red and painful. i have lupus and get ulcers but this seems different. ?

Rheumatologist...: Since one has Lupus and gets ulcers sometimes but considers this new one inside the cheeks different because it looks 'like the skin is burnt' which might be a sign of Necrosis, it might be a good idea to see one's Rheumatologist for evaluation asap.

? Canker Sore?: Ulcers can form inside our mouth and do so, often. Many of them are caused by viruses, often difficult to even diagnose...So these are called canker sores for lack of any better definition. Fortunately they heal, on their own, within one to two weeks. If it keeps growing in size and has not healed within 3 weeks, you should go see your family doctor( or a dentist ) to check it.

i hav developed white line inside cheek and small ulcer that doesn't pain i don't have problem in swallowing or eating hot spicy or anything i used to?

Painless ulcer: When an ulcer doesn't do what it normally should do like hurt, I tend to be concern that it is abnormal.  Better have it checked out to make sure it is not cancerous.

is it possible for a syphilis chancre to disappear within a week? i had a large fleshy swelling inside the inner cheek which reduced and had a white layer on top and ended as a tiny ulcer then went. had a negative test at 9 weeks. thanks?

: A chancre might clear as soon as a week, but it would be unusual. In any case, your negative test result proves it wasn't syphilis.

Get it evaluated: You may be right. This could be an ulcer or from trauma. But the best thing is to have a professional look at it (your dentist) so that he/she can see what it looks like and make a record of it.  They may suggest that you watch it for a few days to see if it resolves but at least they looked at it and will have a comparison point when it is re evaluated.

Mouth ulcer: Usually a virus. Best to see your physician to review your history, medications etc to see if any other cause for this condition

Minor salivary gland: The salivary glands have major and minor components.  The minor components don't have ducts like the parotid, sublingual and subungual glands but are fund just under mucosa of cheek and palate.  In cheek they form a firm nodular lesion which if enlarges may require resection to be sure malignant transformation not taking place.

You should see a Dr.: You should see a doctor to get full treatment and find out the cause.  Depending on your age, this might be oral cancer.  Oral cancer usually presents by 50 years of age, and in the form of non-healing ulcers that can be painful.  It is caused most by alcohol and tobacco use, including smoking and chewing/smokeless tobacco.  The doctor can give you pain meds. And also find the cause of this.
