Get treated: Sorry, but I disagree with your doctor. The bacterial count is lower than usual for UTI (typically &gt;100,000), but 25,000 is high enough, and your urinalysis shows definite urinary tract infection. UTI due to GBS (group B streptococcus) can become severe. Ask for treatment (copy this reply?) or get a second opinion ASAP, e.g. infectious diseases specialist. Good luck!

A few drugs can directly alter the ua by changing the color of the urine. Rifampin, a less-commonly used antiobiotic, and phenazopyridine/pyridium/azo, a commonly used bladder analgesic, both turn the urine a darker orange, which interferes with reading the urine analysis.

my culture said mixed urogenital flora 25-50k with no bacterial growth. my micro ua showed 5-10wbc and few bacteria. it wasnt a clean catch. i wasnt given antibiotics but im concerned about the wbc in my urine.what else could cause them?

: The UA and uric culture results are not specific enough to raise concern, basically,  urine sample was contaminated with flora of bacteria from vagina or skin.  If you are experiencing urinary symptoms such as uncomfortable voiding, frequency, etc., you should have a  culture of  clean catch or catheterized urine specimen.

my urine test came back with streptococcus agalactiae group b as well as leukocyte esterase, ua, poc 1+. i've been on two antibiotics, one on 9/29/22 and one on10/21/22. do you think these antibiotics will cure me?

: The issue is the Strept you have susceptible to the antibiotics you have been taking? If so and you have no reason to have urine track infections should do the job. If you are not better and they have not done a urine culture please request on on a clean catch, mid stream urine sample.

is the at home avo test kit accurate for uti testing. my pc wants me to see uro after routine ua showed 3-5 rbc few bacteria all other items neg i feel just a recheck is needed or antibiotics so want to go in with results from avo if this is a good 1?

: All depends on how your feeling, why you did test in the first place.  Those results, by themselves, are meaningless and may indicate simply a specimen that was collected after being in (brief) contact with vulva or vagina.

At the very least, need SEVERAL carefully done specimens all showing similar results before going for a consultation

Recurrent uti : You seem to be suffering with either recurrent UTI or resistant UTI ... Your physician should follow up with your urine cultures to assure that the choice of antibiotic therapy is appropriate and effective for the causing organism ...  Also I suggest you read some articles regarding tips on prevention of UTI in females ... Good luck !

Ua: Without symptoms a culture would have to be done to determine if there was bacteria. Cystitis is a clinical diagnosis with typical symptoms that is better treated with a culture and sensitivity. Nitrites are less important without symptoms, red or white cells in the urine and < 3 cells per hpf is normal range. Often times a catheterised urine specimen is needed.
