Ua results had occ blood 3+, leuko 3+, rbc & wbc innumerable, bacteria trace, mucous 1+, ca oxalate occ. culture had 25,000 gbs. symptoms of pelvic pressure and somewhat burning when urinating. doc said antibiotics to treat strep were optional?

Get treated: Sorry, but I disagree with your doctor. The bacterial count is lower than usual for UTI (typically >100,000), but 25,000 is high enough, and your urinalysis shows definite urinary tract infection. UTI due to GBS (group B streptococcus) can become severe. Ask for treatment (copy this reply?) or get a second opinion ASAP, e.g. infectious diseases specialist. Good luck!
