Need more info: Do you smoke? That would be a cause of sore throat. Also if there is not much humidity in your bedroom &amp; you snore your throat will dry out. Suggestion  if you smoke STOP NOW. If you need more humidity in the bedroom obtain a humidifier and/or lower the temperature in the bedroom.

Post-nasal drip: A sore throat could be caused by an infection but it could also be caused by mucus secondary to an allergy. One does have a fever with allergies or swollen lymph nodes. You can treat it with mild pain killers if it's bothering enough. If you cough enough you might break a blood vessel. If it stops there forget about it.

Anti-histamine: An over the counter long acting antihistamine may be worth a try  EG: Zyrtec (cetirizine).......

Dr. can check throat: New throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to check for strep throat). A couple days of throat lozenges and Tylenol (acetaminophen) can decrease throat pain.

Blocked Nose: you can try OTC antihistamines and nasal spray.  A netti pot can help, too.

Call or see doctor: The nose can get congested due to blood engorgement or allergies to environment of running.  See your doctor for evaluation of mechanical blockage, engorgement, and allergic nose.  Can you breath okay at night to sleep?

Be examined...: Sick symptoms for 2 months certainly warrant an exam by a physician.  Please make an appointment to be seen.  Swollen glands in your neck can be related to a sore throat; however, lymph nodes that are swollen and sore in groin area are not from a sore throat.  Let a doctor examine you and determine why you are having these symptoms.

Sounds like reflux: Putting all the signs together, your throat irritation results from the reflux acid coming up the esophagus and causing painful symptoms. Treatment should include antacids (Tums) and some form of proton pump inhibitor daily like Omeprazole. These both can be obtained over the counter, but a doctor's care will improve your outcome !

Possibly viral infxn: Try saltwater gargle, honey, and throat lozenges. Stay well hydrated and see if things get better over the next week. If things don't get better, see your doctor.
