Post-nasal drip: A sore throat could be caused by an infection but it could also be caused by mucus secondary to an allergy. One does have a fever with allergies or swollen lymph nodes. You can treat it with mild pain killers if it's bothering enough. If you cough enough you might break a blood vessel. If it stops there forget about it.
