do people with type 2 diabetes eventually develop  pancreas cancer? afraid because i was diagnose so young at 28 with a alc of 7.0 . my risk is high ?

: Diabetes is a risk factor for pancreatic cancer, though pancreatic cancer is still a relatively rare cancer. Other as important risk factors are smoking, drinking alcohol, obesity, chronic pancreatitis etc. Staying at a normal weight and keeping the A1c close to normal will decrease the risk of cancer but mostly will reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease which kills half of us.

i have well controlled type 2 diabetes. a1c is 5.7, and im trying to reverse the diabetes all together. question is the better the controlled diabetes the less chance of getting a stroke or any cancers associated with diabetes?

The better your hour to hour//day to day glucose control the less chance tissue damage occurs. As your management approaches the best control, your risk of these complications approaches that of non-diabetics.

i take 30 mg of actos (pioglitazone) for type 2 diabetes daily. it has been linked to increased risk of bladder cancer in person taking actos (pioglitazone). is actors safe?

See answer: There has been a slight excess of bladder cancers detected in patients who have taken Actos (pioglitazone) compared to others who do not. This appears to be time and dose dependent. Very few people who take Actos (pioglitazone) will develop bladder cancer. However there are many alternatives so it makes sense to switch to another drug if that will be effective , .

my father is 56 years old. he had the right side kidney removed because of cancer in 2016 in china. and after that he got type 2 diabetes. recently he is suffering from high blood pressure for 15 days. pressure is 100/150  ?

See a Dr.: He should see a Dr. There are many causes for high blood pressure, and one of them is kidney disease. If his second kidney is having difficulty, the Dr may change medications or prescribe a specific diet to keep the damage to a minimum. Make sure his diabetes is being well controlled. Test 4-5 times daily and adjust meds and diet according to results.

i have type 2 diabetes uncontrolled. i also have metastatic breast cancer since 2015. i have some damage to my kidneys from chemo. i can't keep magnesium in me. i get iv mag rider every 3 weeks but it's not enough. ? can i do? what is recom product?

: You lost magnesium in the urine because of polyuria due to uncontrolled DM + chemotherapy induced kidney disease (tubulopathy). I wonder how much magnesium you take a day by mouth but you still can not make up for urine loss. Intermittent IV mag rider q 3 weeks is not effective because most of the transfused magnesium will be lost in the urine right away.

Non Compliance& Rx: Most type2 diabetics gain weight as a complication of the treatment with sulphonyl ureas, tzds and Insulin therapy.And there are others who do not follow the diet and exercise recommendations and consume more calories and burn less calories ending up with more weight gain.
