i have two bumps on my neck. they are both very painful and this morning it felt worse. have tried deep heat and muscle relaxers- no improvement. 3rd one arose today. they dont move under my fingers when i press on them. should i go to a dr?

Definitely: Among others, deep abscesses, such as the ones seen in hidradenitis suppurativa may be the cause and specific treatment will be needed. See your GP or an urgent care facility.

Exam needed: An examination of these lesions is needed to diagnose them, but they could be tiny inclusion cysts. They don't sound like active infections,lymph nodes or growths. See your physician if you have further concerns or if these persist,enlarge,become inflamed,tender or if new crops appear.

These nodes swell if there is an infection of the scalp, an insect bite, or something like head lice. This : This is a very common area of enlarged lymph nodes.  They are like guard posts that the body used to remove impurities from the blood.  The most common cause of enlargement is inflammation or infection.  In this area they are likely enlarged due to something on the scalp (any type of skin inflammation).  Iti s common for people to get enlarged nodes in the neck with dental or throat infections.  These lumps should decrease in size over time as the inflammation goes away.  If they continue to grow they show be evaluated.  Another cause of lumps could be sebaceous cysts and othe skin conditions.  If they worsen or do not resolve within 7-10 days, they should be evaluated.
