Uncertain.: Clinical situation would be more telling at the start, but I can tell you that troponin values are just one part of the clinical picture for a patient having some acute heart issue.

i have had some lab work to find out my troponin levels and they were .13 and the other one is .18 is this normal or are these values high?

That depends: On the type of troponin level tested: trop-i or trop-t.  Generally anything 0-0.1micrograms/l is within normal range for trop-t, trop i is &lt;10 micrograms/l.  It also depends highly on the labs "normal ranges" as these differ from lab to lab.  Always good to stick with the same lab and methodology to follow trends in labs.  If at the er for chest pain to rule out mi, they would look at ekg's too.

eating some oily or salty food gives me pain in my left chest but my ecg (did twice) and troponin levels were normal.  is there any other possibility?

: A very common reason for chest pain, especially in young people is symptoms from the gall bladder or stomach. Ask your doctor if you have gastric relfux

No: Troponin is a marker of acute death of heart muscle cells. A person may be in heart failure due to prior damage to the heart and still have normal troponin levels.

: Was this a computer interpretation or the official interpretation after a staff cardiologist did an overread which is customary? I've been an EKG interpreter at 2 hospitals for 40 years and in my experience 20% of computer interpretations required alterations by us readers. Some of these altered interpretations were necessary because the computer couldn't compare the EKG with prior readings though

: EKG criteria for the diagnosis of takotsubo's syndrome are described. One would also have to demonstrate transient echocardiograohic signs of diminished myocardial contraction. In my opinion,the changes you describe don't qualify. Frequent ectopic beats and shortness of breath,especially at rest instead of with exertion, can be caused by stress and anxiety. What does your cardiologist think?

: Current normal troponin levels are not predictive of future heart attacks. Tight follow up with expanding work up for causes other than heart or lungs for your chest pain in the outpatient setting may help in deciding when to go to ER based on pain's characteristics.

Damaged heart muscle: If heart muscle cells r damaged, troponin will leak into the blood + levels will rise. No: An elevated level in the blood may indicate heart damage. The amount of elevation is proportional to the amount of damage. Thus a massive heart attack would result in high level of troponin elevation and would suggest more severe heart damage.
