If not treated early enough, the brain turns off the image from the weaker eye (amblyopia). See a pediatric ophthalmologist, an MD, not an optometrist. Treatment is based on the type of strabismus &amp; is aimed at correcting  or preserving as much vision as possible.

My recommendation if the rx did not work would be to go back to the doctor who prescribed it and find out whether the issue is what they thought it was and whether a change in medication is indicated.
