Eye patches: Strabismus , or lazy eye, is treated with various different methods. The goal is to avoid visual loss, known as amblyopia. The initial treatment usually consists of eye patches. Sometimes eyedrops , eye glasses, or surgery are needed. It is important to seek the advice of an eye specialist to monitor visual acuity throughout the years. Talk to your pcp about a referral. Best of luck. Jp.

Diagnosis: Strabismus can be caused by refractive needs, muscle paralysis, pathology, or an intrinsic defect in the muscular coordination system of the brain between the two eyes. A diagnosis of which type must be made, and then the treatments vary: eyeglasses, patching, surgery . If it is pathologic such as a tumor or cataract, this must be addressed first.
