Mgt: I would recommend having an evaluation, you may need  a longer course of medications. There may be mild inflammation of the liver and to determine the cause, your physician can order blood testing for Hepatitis.

Check with doc,RD: Can't tell here. Depends on cause of your problem. Could be due to infection (typically viral), toxic reaction to meds, immune, inflammatory, bile obstruction due to stone, tumor, etc also depends on what levels were at their worst (if this is improvement). Dietician can be helpful..

Tough situation: Is your background asian? If so, it is likely you have a favorable genetic background that makes interferon work really well to eliminate hepatitis c. But it can be very hard to tolerate in older patients with heart issues.  And it depends on how advanced the cirrhosis is.  I would probably wait for sofosbuvir, although approval may take a while. Talk to your doc and follow the news in the us fda.

: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, your SGPT is not too high. You may need to be tested for chronic hepatitis B or C. If your are overweight, losing weight is imperative.

Find cause: As a pathologist, i always tell folks to look at the person more than the labs. High SGPT is hepatitis, hemochromatosis, wilson's, or drug toxicity until proven otherwise. Usually it is proved otherwise, but we need to rule these out. Once done, easy on the alcohol and hit the gym hard and the lifestyle-related causes of high SGPT (the most common ones) will be history and you'll feel better.
