Chronic sinusitis: This is a sign of chronic inflammation, often due to constricted sinus drainage pathways. If you are having symptoms related to the sinuses (congestion, drainage, pressure/headache, etc) that have persisted for 3 or more months, together with the CT findings you describe, and this persists despite treatment with antibiotics &amp; nasal sprays, u would be candidate for procedure to open the sinus(es).

Early diagnosis and treatment are essential, because the disease can be rapidly progressive and cause complications to  vascular, neurologic, and optic structures can be devastating.  It may rarely need surgery.

Sinus Infection: The sphenoid sinus is one of many sinuses in the face.  Those findings generally go along with a (probably chronic) sinus infection.  It's possible that that is what is causing your dizziness, but not highly probable.  
The changes reported would be mild to moderate.  Think of the "mucosal thickening" as "snot build-up". If it's really bad the sinus cavity shows "complete opacification".
