Yes: Trazodone is useful for anxiety and depression.  It is also helpful for sleep.  Be aware of the potential side effect of priapism in males.

Having said that in some cases is used together - but safer under your doctor's supervision rather than via this forum so please ask him/her.

Rebound anxiety.: Good question--what's the deal? A good place to start to get you answer is with the doctor who prescribed the medication for you in the first place. I would be talking with that person rather than looking for an answer online. Is there some reason you aren't talking with your doc?

Not for anxiety: trazodone is mainly for depression, if anxiety is a major issue you need Venlafaxine or Buspirone, an agent with norepinephrine uptake inhibition

Be careful of: Mixing ocd meds w/prescription meds.  It changes the dose and may confuse your doc.  Speak w/him/her and they might have a suggestion such as kava. Melatonin, or gaba.  Peace and good health.

Depression: Both of these medications work on neurotransmitters that are active in controlling brain activity as well as mood. The area of the brain responsible for our emotional state is often times responsive to both of these medications. Unfortunately only about 50% of people treated for depression will respond to medication. Get enough sleep and exercise as well.

i am going through a divorce and am experiencing periods of anxiety that effect my ability to concentrate at work. i take 50 mg of trazodone at night ?

See your doctor: You need to get some help right away. Trazadone helps with sleep but very poor antidepressant. Go see your doctor and get therapy to help you
