: Trauma to the uterus rather than trauma to the vagina. Previous cervix surgery or trauma damaged uterus from previous miscarriage or childbirth are the traumatic caused of incompetent cervix.

Accepted Answer

Yes: Blunt trauma can cause bruising, and cause skin/mucosa to tear. It does require some force but examples can be bike injuries or gymnastic falls on a bar or beam. The vagina tends to heal well but  scaring can occasionally cause long-term problems like pain.

Should not: Using water from a shower should not cause vaginal injury. If it did and you are post menopausal then I would schedule a visit to be evaluated for vaginal atrophy. Perhaps the vaginal tissue is what we call “atrophic” and might benefit from Estrogen therapy.

Hello. : Hello. I can't tell you if there is a physical / health problem with your genitals.  You sound intuitive.  Having emotions kindled of past trauma can also make you ripe for possible reliving. Sometimes with reliving, you can feel, hear, see or smell things that occurred during your trauma. If you are not seeing a therapist already, i recommend that you do. Take care.

See a urologist: Although i suspect you will heal completely, blood in the urine from vaginal trauma should be investigated further.  You should see a urologist for a thorough examination.

Yes: Intercourse may result in minor abrasion.  Unless it was voilent sex or rape attempt, it should not give serious vulval injury.

Overstretching: Overstretching the vagina (which starts at about the diameter of a pingpong ball, but has to stretch to the diameter of big orange) leads to pulling things out of place, and to tears here and there.

Needs evaluation: This requires an exam and testing. Genital herpes needs to excluded as a cause. Other skin disorders such as lichen sclerosis and lichen simplex chronicus are possibilities. Even recurrent yeast can be a cause.

Have it examined: Lots of things cause cysts. A true sebaceous cyst usually needs excision. Have it examined. Warm compresses help every 2-4 hours. Sitz baths (fill tub with warm water and soak) will help. Skin trauma is different. Can be caused by sex, tampons or infection. If its from sex, use a lubricant during intercourse to keep from drying out. But, really, get it looked at.
