: Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time. You may consider implanted contraceptive or an IUD.

Body making fuel: It generally implies that your body isn't getting the nourishment it needs and is instead breaking down stored energy in your body which releases ketones and proteins into your urine. Were you fasting when you did the test or are you dieting? This also appears in diabetics but you don't mention that as a known problem. if you were just fasting for your appointment, don't worry too much.

I hope the cirrhosis can be addressed; if it's hepatitis C, perhaps you can get a cure with today's meds; if alcohol, perhaps abstinence can reverse it. Be strong &amp; stay proactive.

First attack work up: need complete work up of urinary tract from kidney to ureter to bladder . Workup usually involves kidney sonogram, tests of the ureter, bladder. Kidney stones are common. Kidney disease can be diagnosed, but may need actual kidney biopsy.

: You should follow your doc's direction in taking all meds and not for change of meds as the doc knows what to give you. You can take Metformin as prescribed and disregard trace of proteins.
