Toothache tx...: You need to see the dentist ASAP - there is no substitute for this. In the interim, use of an NSAID to alleviate pain and inflammation - something like Ibuprofen or naproxyn. But these are only temporizing measures. A visit to the dentist is mandatory to deal with the source of the pain.

Possibly: if your son is old enough to talk to you, he will be able to tell you if he feels like he is getting better or getting worse. a bad toothache can definitely become a systemic infection, but in a healthy person, this is not common. nevertheless, if the swelling begins to prevent him from breathing, talking, eating, or drinking, then that can be a bad sign. keep taking his temperature.

NSAIDs/abx: You may try ibuprofen/naproxen that are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications that  may work better than Aspirin sometimes. Also, toothaches are rarely associated with fever unless present for a while and left untreated, so you may want to check it out by a doctor before you let it go.

See DDS: These may be disconnected symptoms, but...If they are connected, this can be important.  Toothache may reflect a dental abscess which, if it extends into the depths of the head/neck, can be fatal.  Toothaches do not get better by themselves.  Take your daughter to the dentist.

Infection: You may have a bacterial or viral infection.  Start with your Dentist.  Your symptoms can be attributed to infected tooth (teeth).  If your Dentist clears you, the next person to see is your General Physician to evaluate for sinusitis or upper respiratory infection.

Question ?: No question asked, but you should see a dentist to evaluate that tooth. Just because the pain has subsided does not mean your problem has gone away. When the pain returns, it will come back hard and strong. Sounds like you have an infection.
