Skin abscesses: Furunculosis is the condition where small skin abscess (looking like pimples or boils) erupt over the skin. Usually these spontaneously drain before the next batch erupt. That being said, the scabbing &amp; throbbing don't seem consistent with furunculosis. However, it's difficult to tell sometimes. The biopsy report should be definitive. Why???: What did the Dr say???? Spongiotic dermatitis is a non-specific finding if a biopsy is done on acute eczema. Usually this is treated, not biopsied. Steroid cream is usually effective.

Some : Longitudinal streaks are completely normal, also, it is prudent the biopsy be taken from he proper location which is under the cuticle region not from the regular nail plate.

is the cyst or toenail fungus causing pain in my feet when i put my feet down, do i need a biopsy for my feet?been seeing a foot doctor and showed him the cyst,can toenail fungus cause pain?cant get meds cause of liver and kidney issues,why the pain?

: I am confused and concerned. You told podiatrist about everything and he ignored   the problem?   Fungus toenails only hurt when ingrown nail. If you are having pain and the doctor ignored you , seek another podiatrist and get proper care

my son has a lump on the top of his foot. i thought it was a very large bug bite it isnt.  dr doesn't know what it is . may biopsy. should i be scared?

May be : I am assuming this lump is under his skin. Biopsy will determine what it is. Most lesions are benign so until the biopsy says other ways i would not be too scared. It could be a simple ganglionic cyst to something bad such as synovial sarcoma. So biopsy will for sure help out.

Not lymphoma: Painful swelling in foot ankle frequently from trauma.  A torn ligament will cause severe symptoms and foot boot to prevent motion helps.  Swelling reduced by elevation of foot and site of tenderness, if found should be infiltrated with lidocaine plus kenalog (triamcinolone) (40) . Lymphoma develops in lymph nodes which are not prominent in ankle/foot. Lung lesion needs bx.

Depends: Usually skin biopsy is taken from the site of the lesion. If the biopsy is for a systemic disorder like lupus, then it may not matter where it is taken from. Neither foot nor hip are usual sites for biopsy, unless the lesion happens to be there.

i had an excisional biopsy about a month ago on my foot, whenever the area on my foot even slightly touches another surface, it causes a lot of pain. is that normal?

No: This actually happened to me. Clearly one of the nerves in the foot has been effected and it could just be that the nerve is being compressed by post-operative inflammation and scar tissue build up. the result from my biopsy has come and i have asortho/parakeratosis, papillomatosis and acanthosis on the heel of my foot. this has been on my foot for 7 years. mydoctor has never heard of it. what should i do?

Wart : The pathology report is suggestive of a wart. There should be some kiolocytosis in the wart .  Hyperkeratosis from chronic rubbing can produce a similar pathology.

hi, i had an excisional biopsy surgery on my foot near my ankle, it actually still hurts and its been about a month. is that normal? or should i make an appointment?

Appointment: If it had healed properly, it would not be hurting. It would be prudent to see your doctor.
