last night i had super tightness in upper thighs along with pelvic pain and shooting paint from thigh to back and it lasted for 10-15 minutes definitely not braxton and would like to know is this real contractions and should i go to hospital?

: If you are near term, you should have your OB and the hospital you are going to deliver at on your speed dial. Have a “Go bag” at the door so that when you go into labor you are ready. If you are having what you think are contractions call your OB. If no answer go to your hospital to be sure.  If you can, take a labor/delivery class to help you prepare you for labor.

Unknown: A mass in the groin could be a hernia. Could be muscle strain. We would need more information to be helpful. Is one thigh bigger than the other? Does it hurt anywhere. How long has it been going on. If it gets worse or you start to have bad groin pain you should see a doctor immediately.

Young: Unlikely to be prostate cancer at your age, higher likelihood is prostatitis or urethritis.  Recommend you make appt to be evaluated in person and have appropriate tests for potential infections performed.

Possible nerve: May represent a radiculitis vs radiculopathy if it is associated with concurrent low back symptoms. I would see pain specialist or physiatrist to help differentiate the cause of pain. Once source of pain discovered, that physician can treat you appropriately or refer you to proper specialist. Go get formal evaluation.

Needs a check up : Chest tightness is generally concerning and most fearful condition will be heart condition. Your age is young for a heart attack but not uncommon. You need immediate medical attention if symptom persist or worsening.

Leg swelling: 18 year old lady w/ swelling of the left upper thigh when compared with the right leg. Leg swelling that is unilateral should be evaluated for DVT, vascular problems including May-Thurner syndrome, cellulitis, ruptured Baker's cyst, fracture, compartment syndrome, and one of the most dangerous causes: bleeding. If you had  significant trauma to your l leg see MD emergently. Otherwise see promptly.

Diagnose: Treatment depends on cause.  Is the pain aroused by directly palpating the region that hurts?  If so then an x- ray might be indicated.  I presume you mean front of thigh. If pain were in back of thigh likely sciatica caused by radiation of pain from nerves next to lumbar spine or pelvic girdle joints.  Since pain goes not to foot is probably not lumbar disk problem.  See osteopath for diagnosis.

Singles: Yes, shingles can involve your thighs.  Shingles can show up in just about any nerve.  The typical nerve is in the upper abdominal area.

Leg press: By 'upper thigh' i'm assuming you mean your quadriceps muscle . Good exercises to work the quads include leg press, leg extensions, and exersise bike( among others). Best of luck!
