Not likely: While dog bites are problematic for infections, licking is not usually associated with oral or skin infections.

Should have resolved: If Nystatin oral suspension was given at appropriate dose (1-2 ml four times daily) then must consider:
1.  Incorrect diagnosis
2.  Re infection from someone else
3.  Underlying health problem eg immunity
     problems
if not already done, child should be re evaluated by her pediatrician and or dermatologist.

Dont think so: This doesnt sound like a good idea, at all. Thrush is a fungal infection and needs a proper anti fungal medication that can be prescribed by a physician. Baby acne i will leave for another physician to comment on. But i can say with great confidence that rubbing a pee-soaked diaper on a babys face/tongue will not solve the problem. Probably a bad idea.

See your doctor: There is usually a white exudate on the tongue, gums, palate of the mouth which is difficult to remove. However, for verification see your child's pediatrician.

Not exactly...: Young babies can get thrush, which is just an overgrowth of candida yeast. Candida is a normal part of us, and grows on our bodies (on every one of us). Young babies' bodies are more prone to getting an overgrowth of Candida... but are not truly getting thrush from their milk, regardless of whether or not they are getting Candida from their milk.

No: Thrush is yeast infection on the lining of your oral cavity and tongue. In an otherwise healthy baby, thrush is not a serious condition. How ever the child may need treatment with some anti fungal medications.

Rx Meds : For infants with oral thrush we usually prescribe a suspension of an anti yeast medicine called nystatin. This kills the yeast on contact like a weed killer, so applying it to the areas with a q-tip can speed the fix. An old time remedy has been gentian violet, but it is exceedingly messy & i had one kid develop airway complications after home use so i don't recommend it.

Recurrent thrush: It can happen. Make sure you sterilize the baby's bottle and nipples after washing the bottles with soap and water. If you are breast feeding make sure you wash your breasts with soap and water before and after each feeding . If you are breast feeding and you have a rash or your breasts are itching, consult your doctor. You may to apply medication to your breasts.
