Second opinion?: Oral thrush appears as a whitish coating and does not cause bumps.  You may have had two separate findings.  The bumps might have been normal or inflamed taste buds.  Were you treated for the thrush?  I would see an oral surgeon for a second opinion if you do not have confidence in your present dentist or his\her diagnosis and advice.

Bumps: it is very unlikely to be oral thrush unless you are using inhaled corticosteroids. It could food particles or a viral infection Or strep throat

You need a consult: This sounds like a followup from a previous consult or visit to a doctor.  If you are not getting relief from whatever was suggested, you need to be seen again, ideally by a clinician who can actually examine your tongue.  Good luck!

There are: two small " lingual tonsils "in the area you describe and infection in these "secondary" tonsils may be infected or have "reactive" tissue to your chronic pharyngeal tonsil infection.....
Ask your ENT specialist....if this is possible... BTW I do not think your daughter's thrush is iimplicated in your present situation..

No: Unless you had intravenous drug use or other high risk behavior you do not have HIV. The bumps on the back of your tongue are taste buds, Cold sores are a common occurrence in normal people. If you are over the thrush, it is not an issue.

Thrush: That may not necessarily be a sign of thrush but you should certainly see your doctor to be sure and get it treated.

Uncertain: For significantly sore throat w swollen tonsils / lymph nodes – see physician &amp; get a strep throat test &amp; culture. Antibiotics are imperative for Strep Throat.  Try saltwater gargles. Mix tsp of salt in 8 oz of warm water – gargle w this several times/day. You can gargle w Aloe Vera juice a couple of times per day. A mix of chamomile tea w honey &amp; a small amt of lemon juice helps.

Foods?: Incidently sometimes while the mouth looks red and blochy could be related to new food or sometimes old food that causes irritation.  For example strawberries and tomatoes do this FREQUENTLY.  If not improving see pediatrician.
