headache and  throbbing in ear. what is wrong? what can i take?

Could be infection: Several things can cause both those symptoms, but a common cause would be early infection. Many viral infections start with headache, along with a achiness, fever and pain. Migraines can also cause throbbing pain and headache. Unless you have medical issues tat make them risky, usually tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen/alene can help. Fluids and rest/sleep help too. If more symptoms be seen.

Sounds like: you need to have your Primary Care Provider check for ear wax )Cerumen) which combined with water (eg: from hair washing) can give you this kind of symptomatology!

i have been having a numbness on the r side of my face with a headache & throbbing...and the skin and right ear get very hot to the touch. ?

Complicated migraine: this is most likely a complicated migraine based on throbbing pain and skin sensitivity vs less likely brain lesion affecting the cranial nerve 5 or autonomic trigeminal cephalgia. you need to see a neurologist for this issue and get MRI brain to rule out demyelinating or space occupying lesions, but again highest suspicion is for migraine

What is wrong can: only be determined by an appropriate medical professional examining you for diagnosis. It certainly sounds like an ear infection, possibly coupled with a sinus infection.  Many of these are viral and will respond to supportive care, including decongestants and use of netty pots. Others need antibiotics. Start with seeing your PCP for an evaluation right away!

Headache: Take simple pain relief with brufen and paracetamol if you are not allergic. If that doesn't help see Family doctor. Could be migraine . Will need to do a physical exam and exclude any infections after taking a detailed history

i have a throbbing headache just in front of my right ear. this always happens whenever cold weather kicks in. and when i turn my head to my left, it goes away briefly. is this a serious condition?

: Have you tried seeing an ENT (Ear Nose and Throat Specialist) to examine your ear? That might be a good place to start.

Fluid in ear?: Assuming that these symptoms have been present for less than a week, fluid in the left middle ear from the flight may be the cause and this may or may not resolve completely by itself after 2 weeks. It is possible also that you may have an ear infection.  On the other hand, from your history, I can't rule out a migraine headache triggered by stress especially if you have a history of migraine.
