what could be the cause of chronic(1 year) persistent minimal sputum in the throat that couldn't be coughed out in a 25 year old ? this sputum is only cleared by forceful cough followed by swallowing. no risk factors -smoking, alcohol, drug, disease?

: Gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD, can cause this sensation as well as cough. Have the person seen by a doctor because this can be treated by medication. Staying upright for at least 30 minutes after eating is also helpful. A doctor can explore other causes of these symptoms as well so see a doctor ASAP! Good luck!

Maybe not: You don't say what is wrong with your thyroid, and what medications you are on. If the sx in your neck are from an enlarged thyroid (goiter), the medications may or may not help.  It would be important to figure out exactly what is causing your symptoms.  Usually a modest size goiter does not cause symptoms.

flat red rash on arms legs, face and neck. it is splotchie and does not itch.no medication changes. i have crohn's disease.

Crohn's Disease: There are several skin manifestations of Crohn's disease some of which can be quite serious i.e pyoderma gangrenosum (PG). From your description of your rash it is unlikely to be PG, but you should get it checked by your Primary Care Provider. Also, just because you have Crohn's disease does not mean that every one of your health problem are related to Crohn's.

Need to know more: Although the description is compatible with atopic eczema( since you probably have allergic rhinitis as well as evidenced by the sneezing), it is not possible to tell without a direct examination.  Consult an allergist or dermatologist.    In meanwhile be sure to bathe daily and apply a skin moisturizer immediately after having sponge dried your skin .

minereas disease i have minereas disease and was told i had a twisted artery in my neck could this be effecting the minereas because now no medication works dizzy and ringing in ears pretty much constant  can't take many more 8 hours of vomiting

You : You are probaly referring to meniere's disease, an inner ear problem that causes dizziness and vertigo and frequently loss of hearing. It is felt due to an abnormal accumulation of fluid in the ear and can be difficult to treat. It is not a vascular problem. See wikipedia for an excellent explanation.

are there any neurological disorders that cause really bad headaches bad neck/ back pain. had this since august, and nothing works, no drugs will help?

Chronic daily H.A.'s: Maybe you too have migraine, and your "drugs" have precipitated a more frequent pattern.  There are items which can both stop and prevent headaches, both prescription and otc.  Suggest you seek an experienced neurologist, and get this controlled.  Avoid pain meds of all types, as will just exacerbate your problems.

Probably none: It depends on the cause of the adenopathy. If it's caused by a viral infection, no treatment is needed. If it's bacterial, then it might require an antibiotic. Other more serious issues can cause enlarged lymph nodes as well. Your physician can exam and advice you.

May be reflux: Many people with sensation of mucus chronically stuck in the throat are experiencing laryngeal reflux.  If you have not already, try an OTC acid-blocking medicine such as Prilosec or Prevacid (lansoprazole).  If symptoms show no sign of improvement, see your MD.

Ricola!  No, really.: If this is related to a simple upper respiratory tract infection, then i recommend an over the counter throat lozenge.  They have mild anesthetic properties that will soothe a sore throat.  Easy peasy.  If the throat pain is persistent or if you have been a long term smoker or suffer from gastric reflux problems, you may want to see your doctor for further advice or referral to a specialist.
