Concern?: If the problem is not solved, if you are still in pain, then obviously you are still concerned right? Have you gotten a chest xray? I would also consider a rheumatologist (this is a connective tissue specialist) for another opinion of possible connective tissue disease.

15 months of nausea feeling in throat,no appetite,chest pain sternum,belching,trouble breathing,constant belly pain.endoscopy showed sliding small hiatal hernia, breath test showed sibo.xflaxin hasn't helped. is it the hernia or sibo causing problems?

3 month history of chest pain, dyspnea, and throat tightness.   chest xrays, cpet, all fine. 1 month history of throat pain. nasal endoscopy showed swollen epiglottis and ent says silent reflux..concerned about throat cancer. should we do imaging?

: For the throat symptoms workup I would abide by the advice of your ENT. If reflux is a problem you may also be experiencing an esophageal motility disorder or actual inflammation of the esophagus to account for the chest discomfort. For this portion of your workup I recommend consulting a gastroenterologist to obtain an accurate diagnosis and receive appropriate treatment &amp; follow-up.

i accidentally inhaled steam when opening my oven which was set to 450 degrees f. im having throat and chest pain but no breathing difficulties currently. do you think a visit to the er is necessary? is it safe to sleep post-injury?

: The damage of superheated air, like those afflicted in house fires has a rapid onset. If you are not facing difficulty breathing it is most likely any injury was minor and your body has compensated well. By a few hours after exposure if you have not developed more than the symptoms mentioned, it is doubtful an ER visit would be worth the effort. Sleep would be fine. The body wakes you for trouble.

f 44 yo. having throat and chest pain. dr sending me for a barium swallow test. have already had a mammogram, ct & 3 x-ray within the past few months. safe to get the barium done still or is this too much radiation?

: Risk and benefit ratio. The amount of radiation and the potential theoretical risk needs to be balanced against your health needs. It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination review of your test data. If you are overweight, losing weight is imperative.

: This doesn't sound like any STD. There are many other possible causes. See a doctor:  COVID-19 always is a possibility these days, especially if you haven't been vaccinated and you should be tested for it. Good luck.

Need more info: Do you have a fever? Difficulty swallowing? Bad breath? Is your chest pain worse with deep breath? Worse with cough? Are you short of breath? Do you bring up phlegm? Do you smoke? How long have you been ill? Are you getting better, staying the same, or getting worse?  Is your tongue coated? Do you have pus on your tonsils?   So many questions!  you need to see your doctor!

Chest pain: can still be due to reflux, but you want to make sure it isn't your heart, kindly go to urgent care or ER, your heart comes first, taking an antacid or a PPI won't harm, but get seen, good luck
