: Well it depends on what is going on with your lumbar spine. The lumbar spine is naturally curved. “Straightening” it may be the wrong goal for the issue that you are trying to address. The exception is those few with significant scoliosis or abnormal curvature of the spine who require surgical management.

Spinal disc repair: The good news is that in 98% of cases, there is no need to do anything about a slipped disc. The body will usually dissolve the excess material in about 4-6 weeks and the pain goes away. Surgery or injection is generally only considered if there is still severe pain after 6 weeks.

Not all discs equal!: The MRI scan is a very sensitive test.  As people age it becomes more likely that some sort of disc damage, or desiccation (drying and shrinking) will be found.  Many of these findings are not clinically significant, i.e. Not a cause of pain.  Findings such as a herniated disc (a disc that has been squeezed out of it's normal location) that is pinching a nerve or the spinal cord is more credible.

I can help you make.: Better sense of the images but cannot give an official interpretation. That will be done by a radiologist where your exam was done and a report will be issued. Your doctor who ordered the exam can also help explain the report to you.

about 11 years ago i had medtronics scs implants ( 2 ) units for my lumber spine and my neck areas. about a year ago i beleive that both batteries in the units died. the units do not work any more. when the units did work i had about 60-70 %releive?

: Those batteries may be rechargeable so you should contact the manufacturer with the info inside the booklet which was given to you after the procedure. If those batteries are not rechargeable the whole unit can be replaced. You should have it done because the device was relatively effective.

i have a sharp pain in my thigh. i have been diagnosed with osteoporosis of lumber spine. what is the treatment?

Need more evaluation: Osteoporosis of the spine will not cause the thigh pain. Meds known as bisphosphonates can help the osteoporosis but you should ask your doctor why osteoporosis is present in someone only 40 years of age. See an orthopedist or rheumatologist.

No: The amount of radiation you received was still small by comparison to computed tomography (ct) or other radiographic dye studies. You're a male, make new sperm every day so the chance for long term adverse effects is slim.

my lumber spine mri shows conus medullaris terminates at lower l2 . is it normal or low lying conus medullaris? signal morphology is normal though.

Normal: Yes, it is very common for the conus to end in the lumbar area.
