Depends: If you are having poor seizure control then your aeds need re-evaluation if not then your current treatment may be appropriate
 
the combination can also be used for bipolar disorder. Most psychiatriast evaluate these drugs by the level of mode stabilization and use levels to monitor for toxicity. If your mood is still not stable discuss with your doc about adjusting dose.

Lamictal dose: depends on weight, use of other meds . Typically 100-125 mg twice a day. Be sure to follow titration schedule of physician. Too rapid a titration increases the risk of Stevens Johnson Syndrome or TEN .

LAMOTRIGINE: I do not know for what condition it was prescribed to you, my answer will depend upon the diagnosis and if you are also taking it with valporic acid or other enzyme-inducing seizure medicine  !  in this case Lamictal dose is reduced

Check with Doctor: I don't think it's a good idea to increase your dose based on what some of us might say here on healthtap. I hope you agree. I also wonder about the symptoms you have which might cause you to want a dosage increase. Too much Lamictal can have side-effects. The package insert for Lamictal recommends a maximum dose of 200 mgs/day, although i've seem some on higher doses than that. Again, ask the dr.

It always depends.: Dosing is always an individual thing, but in general 50mg of Lamictal is a small dose. It's possible that Lamictal could be very helpful for general anxiety as well.

Maybe.: You could get a tegretol level to find out. Clinically, you can feel if your moods are more level even if the blood levels of the anticonvulsant is not therapeutic.

Relax: Assuming the tablets are not of the higher dose most likely there will be no problems. You could have temporary dizziness or fatigue. I would not be too concerned.

Tonight: Take your morning dose of 200 mg rather than 300mg the tomorrow go back to your regular dosing schedule.

why do you have to take lamictal 12 hours apart? i i took 100 mg lamictal 3 1/2 hours after dosage time.  when can i take the evening dose?

Nausea: If you are taking it for mood the main reason we divide it up is because a single dose can cause nausea or other benign medication side effects. Even if taken a few hours apart it's fine.
