I dont know: I wouldnt eat it.  Might check with your local health department to see if sand is toxic.  Also might want to see a doctor and discuss your habit.  In some cases, it is possible you may have nutritional deficiency that may be creating this unusual food interest.

Normal Process: As injured skin heals, the body creates inflammation which means fresh blood goes to the area and with it, many kinds of healing factors and cells.  One type is called melanocytes which carry our skin pigment melanin.  A healing occurs, these cells may or may not return to the area and give it the brownish or lack of coloration you see.  There might be some changes as the injury matures.

Usually not: In some areas of the world they may carry infection. Leishmaniasis is carried by a sand flea, but in this county i think you are pretty safe.  Mostly they just cause local itch and rash.

Finger bump: If it's been present all those years without changing, it is benign. It may be a spur or boney outgrowth. A physician would have to examine it to be sure.

No: The supplement you are taking is an overpriced placebo. Creatine and aerobic training will do you much more good. The finasteride is your business. If you're a supplementing bodybuilder, consider simply embracing your genetic heritage. Nothing looks better than a 31 year old man who's strong, trim, with some nice well-trimmed facial hair, probably some great body hair, and some macho balding.

Hmmm: How do you know you are lacking in silica?  This would be a very unusual diagnosis.  Is whoever told you this trying to sell you something?  ARUP (a national reference lab) defines a couple of tests for silicon, but does not define a clinical syndrome associated with the test results.

Ferro silica: Breathing the fumes of ferro silica can cause silicosis and possible lung cancer.

Silicosis develops: from chronic and repeated exposure, usually needing years. Biologically, the lungs are saturated with silica dust  and the macrophages are overwhelmed in their role to clear the silica.  Thus,  toxicity and damage result.
Respirators are  required by OSHA.

Silica: Silica is a mineral remedy from the 3rd row of the periodic table.  It's sometimes needed in patients who have very low self-confidence, and who long to be seen in a special way by others.  They may be very obstinate, yet extremely anxious about details.  Silica can also help in certain kinds of pharyngitis, sinusitis, and abscesses.  The "x" means a potency on the decimal scale, such as 12x.
