90 days: Regarding the window period, if you may have been exposed to syphilis less than 3 months ago (window period) and get tested for syphilis, there is a risk of a false negative.  

There are many types of syphilis tests, including a rapid HIV-syphilis test and a rapid test for syphilis, both for use at the point of care.  Most tests for syphilis are looking for antibodies.

Get a PCR: You're really worried, and perhaps you should pay extra for a pcr / nucleic acid screen; this should be positive by 21 days.

STDs: I am not sure your question: testing for STDs can take place at any time. If you are symptomatic, the earlier you get tested the better. But certain StDs such as chlamydia often are  symptomatic so routine testing, especially for women is advised. 
If you are concerned you have been exposed, get tested

You don't have it!: Excellent question! There are different types of HIV tests, with different windows. But mostly it's that educational sources haven't kept up with newer tests. Some doctors and agencies take a conservative view and advise waiting longer than necessary. Still others have a political or religious motivation -- trying to frighten folks. CDC is right about AgAb (4th gen) testing: 6 weeks is conclusive.

: You've obviously been searching the web widely, probably including many scientifically unreliable sites. Anybody can say anything they want on the web. All scientifically reliable sources agree that 6 weeks is sufficient for the antigen-antibody (AgAb, 4th generations tests), and 8-12 weeks for the 3rd gen antibody tests. Some sites are behind the times or just don't understand the latest science.

: There has been no precise research on time to positive syphilis blood tests. The  screening tests (RPR, VDRL, EIA for IgG and/or IgM antibody) for sure are conclusive by 90 days, and probably positive over 95% of the time by 6 weeks. In my 40+ years in the STD business, I've never had a patient with negative results at 6 weeks who later had positive test results. If it happens, it is very rare.

: There is no credible evidence that they do. It is good that you are negative but please always use precaution when having sex to avoid any STD

i was in contact on sunday ( 19/07/2020)  with someone who tested positive. we drove in the same car for about an hour. i don't have symptoms but is necessary to go for a test?  is there a window period with regard to testing?

COVID19 Asymptomatic: Individuals with exposure to COVID-19 positive patients should remain home and self quarantine for at least 14 days from most recent exposure.  Higher risk exposures involve close contact (less than 6 feet) for over 15 minutes.

These exposed individuals should self-monitor for symptoms and perform twice daily temperature checks.  If symptoms develop then will need to isolate and obtain testing.
