how long is ringworm contagious on terbinafine? i used a topical cream for 2-3 days and ran on and i read that itd only be contagious for 1 or 2 days after using it. i ran out and went to the doctors a week later and was prescribed the terbinafine.

See dermatologist: if this is a fungus, then your meds whether top or oral should be taken for a prolonged time pd. The risk of being contagious should diminish sig when this routine is followed. would see dermatologist to confirm dx and receive appropriate tx.

Maybe: There are many treatment alternatives. Lamisil (terbinafine) topical is as good a start as any other topical.  Other otc preparations have different chemicals and could be tried after after one month of no results.  Moisture is a large factor so I recommend an anti fungal powder in the mornings.  Exfoliating skin is another factor s the intertiginous spaces needs  to be scrubbed.Withoutresults see a podiatrist.

Kojic acid : Kojic acid has bleaching potential and as such try it on discolored skin for a limited period of time (usually 6 weeks).

Lots of side effects: it is a potent steroid cream and not to be used for things like sensitive skin. It has both local effects on skin fro thinning to bruising and stretch marks to systemic effects affecting whole body including suppression of adrenal glands and suppression of immune system. my dr. rx'd triamcinolone cream 2x/day for poison ivy rash. are there any side effects or is it usually well tolerated w/out any adverse effects?

Not really: This is a moderate potency steroid cream and little if any will penetrate the skin and effect your body. It can decrease the angry irritation of the rash and reduce itching. Many use it for that purpose.You may be able to get similar benefit from a product called IVY DRY sold OTC at many box stores.

A drying of the skin
A contact dermatitis which is an itchy redness
You could have an allergy to the medication again itchy, red maybe swollen

: The dermatologist or the doc who diagnosed your hand rash would be best to weigh in case there was no response to naftifine. Diagnosis might have to be questioned or therapy escalated to systemic antifungal (pills).

Avoid if possible: We know the oral use causes birth defects. The topical appears safer, but seriously, unless the problem you are treating is extreme, i would avoid it.

Yes: Yes, you can.  Do not get it in your eyes, mouth or nose.

Accepted Answer

Glutathione pills?: You don't absorb straight glutathione orally.    It would need to be IV push.   Otherwise, you must be getting NAC,  which is a precursor to glutathione.   No harm.
